Choosing the best place to send your campus reps will really depend on the college you are targeting and what it is that your company is trying to promote. While we can’t give you the ins and outs of every campus, here’s a general run-down of some of the most popular places that campus reps can make an impact.
1. The Game Day Tailgate
There may be no better way to promote your brand on a college campus than to show support for something the students care about. Depending on the season, showing school spirit for their college or university’s sports team is high on students’ list of priorities. Drop your tailgate or find your way into a university-sponsored pre-game event!
Sporting events are great times to promote your company within the student body without being disruptive of academia, but they require high-energy, passionate reps in order to really grab students’ attention.
2. The High-Traffic Area of Campus
When promoting your brand during the school week, the last thing you want to do it set up a booth where students are buckling down to prepare for upcoming exams. Though these may be the places where the most students are at a time, you should instead opt for high-traffic areas where students go between classes or for a break from studying.
Dependent on weather, pick a spot along a busy sidewalk where students walk between classes. During winter months, it may be ideal to stay indoors in the lobby of a University building where there is a lot of student traffic between class periods.
3. The Favorite Local Hangout
On the weekends when there aren’t many popular sporting events, where do students at your university or college like to go? Chances are they have a favorite off-campus bar, coffee shop, or restaurant they like to go to to wind down. See if your reps can also get in and have an occasional presence at one of these places.
This will definitely require collaboration with local business owners, but if your brand presence will help them draw in customers, it’s likely they’ll let you advertise on their premises. When approaching local business owners, arm your campus reps with a strategy that will help accomplish their goals as well as your own.
Networking will be super important when it comes to scoring a presence for your reps in the most popular places on campus. Get in touch with professors and school officials, chances are they can help you out!
