Let’s be honest. New Year’s resolutions are pretty hard to stick with. What seems totally attainable on New Year’s Eve will probably look daunting in the harsh light of New Year’s Day.
With that in mind, we’ve got a few resolutions that you can actually achieve:
Take a nap and treat yourself. You work hard (usually) and sometimes you’re on the verge of burning out. Know your limits and take a break
Try some some new lingo. Avoid using fillers like “um,” “uh,” or “like” and keep your vocab really freaky fresh and sign up for SAT word of the day. Your public speaking skills will improve and so will your writing.
Go to Class. This should be a no-brainer, but if you think about it, you’re paying for your booty to sit in that seat. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn something new even if it isn’t a part of your chosen field of study.
Invest your time wisely and be selective with your commitments. Your time is valuable so make time for the intramural soccer league but also get involved in student organizations and activities that will look good on a resume. For instance, applying for that brand ambassador job you keep getting emails about or seeing flyers for is a great idea to gain experience and talk about in interviews for the summer internship of your dreams.
Go on an adventure. The world is your oyster, and now is the time to dive in. Take advantage of the time you have off during breaks and travel somewhere new, even if it’s just a car ride away.
Clean up your online profiles. Get rid of the clutter and untag those unflattering posts. It’s a new year and a new you, so make sure your profiles reflect that for any Facebook stalking or Twitter creeping future employers.
And of course, make some cash as a brand ambassador and Go Commando!
